DATA RETENTION & DISCLOSURE (DR&D) .
The importance of CD/CDRs in support of intelligence and investigative processes cannot be underestimated. It has consistently proven to be an invaluable tool in the armoury of national, regional or global protective organisations; whether they are law enforcement, intelligence or national security agencies. Today, over 80% of criminal trials, financial investigations and counter-terrorist operations in the United Kingdom and the United States involve CD/CDRs, by delivering the ability to access and analyse data in a timely manner. It is a “game changer” for investigation and intelligence purposes; particularly if the right resources can be brought to bear, providing end-users with case direction and informed decision-making opportunities.
Cell phones are an integral part of everybody's daily lives and their substantial adoption and the digital communications trail it produces provides rich insight into the lives of suspects or vulnerable persons. This CD leaves a forensic footprint of behavioural patterns, activities and associations and can be targeted toward many areas of intelligence to create a contextual understanding of multiple issues.
The GioSec CD/CDR DR&D system allows for the capture and detailed analysis of the information collected by Telecom Operators (TOs). The GioSec system principally applies to cell phone TOs, but it can also be modified to include the data collected by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and fixed line providers.
